Mobile Number Portability
(MNP)
Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is the facility for users to
switch from one mobile operator to another, While retaining your existing
mobile number. Sim card and all services on the mobile connection will change
and will be provided by the new operator.
MNP service is available all across BSNL network in INDIA.
Obtain Unique Porting Code (UPC) by sending an SMS to "1900"
in the format "PORT<space>10 digit mobile number”
(eg:- PORT 1234567890
send it to 1900)
UPC code is to be valid for a period of 15 days from the
date of request.
You have to visit the BSNL CSC (Customer Service Centre) /
Authorised franchisee / Retailer to request for porting of your mobile number.
Fill in a CAF (Customer Application Form) and pay the porting fees (plan charge
+ sim charge) for processing.

- Pay Per Minute/Sec Plan
- Students/Data Special Plan
- Pyari Jodi Plan
Presently BSNL is not charging any fees for
porting into BSNL.
You will get a new BSNL SIM card (32k, 64k, 128k, 256k).
Upon approval of porting request, BSNL will inform you the
date and time of porting.You are required to change your SIM card at the said time.
In case of problem you need to contact the Toll free number
1800-180-1503 or 1503 .
Note:
- -ve Balance customers are not allowed to porting.
- Porting to another network will be allowed after 3 months period.
- Post-paid customers can port by changing your number to pre paid.
